My memories of my sister are nothing but fond
Over the years, we have fostered a strong bond
When I was little, she was the leader of us three
Many naughty things we did, just listen on and see
Take for example, the prank calls we made
To people listed in the phone directory, when my parents were not awake
Or the super-soaker ambush from our bedroom widow
On unsuspecting Hwa Chong students jogging just below
I’m not blaming her for all the bad things we’ve done
But just imagine how boring life would have been without her around!
Besides being a partner in crime,
She has been a sweet sister all this time
When studying abroad, she sent letters and gifts
Like glow-in-the-dark plasters and stickers to scratch & sniff
When I broke up with my first boyfriend
She bought me neo-print sticker frames and a coloured pen
She always managed to find different ways
To put a smile on my grouchy face
As an elder sister, she offered me advice
On any topic ranging from jobs to guys
Now that she’s married, our room feels empty
Without a doubt, I do feel lonely
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not angry with Eddie
Instead, I’m happy that she’s happy
I would like to congratulate both of them on this joyous occasion
Where we gather tonight to celebrate their union
As Husband and Wife
